What’s hot in VET for 2012?

Endeavour Awards – The Endeavour Awards is the Australian Government’s internationally competitive, merit-based scholarship program providing opportunities for citizens of the Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas to undertake study, research and professional development in Australia. Awards are also available for Australians to undertake study, research and professional development abroad. 2012 second round closes 11.59 am AEDT, Tuesday 20 December 2011.
Grants and tenders – The current business environment is changing rapidly and with it so are strategies to help you grow and maintain market share.
Knight Review – The government supports in principle all of Mr Knight’s recommendations, however some recommendations will be modified in places to enhance the performance of the Australian education sector and to better safeguard the integrity of the visa system. The majority of the stage two Knight Review changes are proposed to be implemented by mid-2012 with some other changes proposed to commence in early 2013.
NBN Enabled Education and Skills Services Program – The NBN-Enabled Education and Skills Services (NBN-EESS) Program is a new Australian Government initiative aimed at supporting the development and trialing of online education and skills services that take advantage of the high speed broadband connections being made available through the National Broadband Network (NBN). It is expected that finalised program guidelines will be released and the call for proposals announced during November 2011.
Queensland Jobs and Skills package – The Australian Government in partnership with the Queensland Government has announced $83 million in funding for the Queensland Natural Disasters Jobs and Skills Package.
Recognition of Prior Learning – an opt out – not opt in approach to RPL transforms the way clients and practitioners think about RPL with innovative methodologies including online RPL.
Skills Australia – Scenarios for Australia to 2025 – upcoming webinar
Skills for All (SA reform) – RTOs must apply to become a Skills for All training provider by completing the online application form which will be available soon. The Skills for All Subsidised Training list will also be featured here at the same time. Start your preparation now by building an RTO capability statement against the selection criteria.
